About Captain Ryan Clark

Ryan Clark grew up on the water. Raised by a father who was an avid sailor, he learned to handle a tiller before he could drive a car and spent his childhood sailing and exploring the Southern California coastline, Catalina Island, and the Channel Islands. What began as weekend sailing with his dad quickly became a lifelong calling.

By his early twenties, Ryan set off on one of his first major voyages: sailing a 26’ 1937 Seabird yawl from California to Costa Rica, a formative journey that solidified his love for offshore passagemaking and adventure. For the last 30 years he has owned and sailed his 44’ classic sailboat, logging thousands of miles and refining the seamanship and instinct that only decades on the water can provide.

Ryan’s professional career has taken him around the world. He has captained both sail and power yachts throughout the Caribbean, Mediterranean, South Pacific, and across both U.S. coasts. His offshore accomplishments include crossing the Atlantic, completing extensive international yacht deliveries, and running charters in some of the world’s most celebrated cruising grounds. He’s spent seasons living and working aboard mega yachts in the Mediterranean, gaining firsthand expertise in luxury service, navigation, and international cruising protocols.

A collegiate sailing racer, Ryan brings competitive precision to every helm, skill that later contributed to one of his proudest achievements: winning his division in the Transpacific (Transpac) Yacht Race, the legendary 2,225 mile regatta from Los Angeles to Honolulu.

With over 50,000 nautical miles under his belt, Ryan’s experience spans classic sailboats, performance multihulls, luxury motor yachts, and everything in between. He has completed countless coastal and offshore deliveries, captained yacht charters worldwide, and has deep local knowledge of every cove, anchorage, and hidden corner of the Channel Islands and Catalina, where he has a mooring and spent summers since childhood.

Today, Captain Ryan brings all of this experience, technical skills, calm professionalism, and a lifetime of ocean miles to every charter, delivery, and private captain service he offers. For him, the sea isn’t just a career. It is home.
